On arrival at the Start, KING CREOLE was found to have blood in the mouth due to a cut lip. KING CREOLE was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said, in his opinion, it was suitable to race. After being loaded, THUNDER FLASH became fractious and reared, resulting in its rider, K L Chui, being dislodged. THUNDER FLASH was removed from the barriers and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said, in his opinion, it was suitable to race. Before being allowed to race again, THUNDER FLASH will have to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. As the start was effected, GENERAL DANROAD lifted its front feet off the ground and consequently was slow to begin. For some distance approaching the 1000 Metres, GENERAL DANROAD proved difficult to settle and then at the 1000 Metres got its head up when being checked away from the heels of ST DIDAR. K L Chui was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 900 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of SEASON LINKZ, resulting in SEASON LINKZ being taken in onto PERFECT FIT which was in turn taken in onto SICHUAN HERO, resulting in that horse being unnecessary crowded for room, losing the running to which it was rightfully entitled and checked. OTTIMO, which was following SICHUAN HERO, was checked away from the heels of that horse and shifted out. K L Chui was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Thursday 4 February 2010 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after the Happy Valley racemeeting on Wednesday 27 January 2010. Near the 800 Metres, OTTIMO was checked when crowded for room between SICHUAN HERO and GENERAL DANROAD which got its head on the side and shifted in despite the efforts of its rider. Rounding the first turn, GENERAL DANROAD was checked and blundered when crowded for room between RAINBOW SEEKER and SICHUAN HERO which shifted out. As there was no rider error involved in this incident, no further action was taken. After this, SICHUAN HERO hung out and near the 400 Metres was checked when reluctant to maintain its position inside ST DIDAR. Throughout the race, PLOT RATIO travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of SICHUAN HERO after the race did not show any significant findings. ST DIDAR, PERFECT FIT and SEASON LINKZ were sent for sampling.
