SWEET SANETTE, which lost its left front plate in the Parade Ring, was replated. SWEET SANETTE was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said, in his opinion, it was suitable to race. Due to SWEET SANETTE having to be replated in the Parade Ring, the start of this race was delayed. On arrival at the Start, GO DAN GO was found to have lost its right front plate. This plate was refitted. GO DAN GO was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said, in his opinion, it was suitable to race. MEGABUCKS, which had been slow to begin, was hampered shortly after the start when GO FAY FAY shifted in. At the start, SMART CURRENCY and HO HAPPY were crowded for room between GO DAN GO and JOYFUL JOYFUL which, after initially shifting out of its own accord, was taken in a short distance later by GLENEALY STAR. In this incident, SMART CURRENCY was checked away from the heels of GO DAN GO. Passing the 200 Metres, Apprentice T H So (NATIVE KID) dropped his right rein. A veterinary inspection of SMART CURRENCY after the race did not show any significant findings. SWEET SANETTE and ELITE SIXTY-SIX were sent for sampling.
