STRAIGHT FORWARD was crowded for room at the start between ENDLESS LUCK and ALMIGHTY WINDPOWER. Shortly after the start, CARTHAGE was steadied away from the heels of HANDSOME ZULU. Shortly after entering into the Straight, SAPELLI was momentarily held up for clear running. Approaching the 200 Metres, ALMIGHTY WINDPOWER, which was commencing to give ground, was steadied when crowded for room between JACOBEE which was taken in by HANDSOME ZULU which in turn was taken in by CARTHAGE and VITALITY EXPRESS which shifted out to obtain clear running. T Angland (CARTHAGE) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 150 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of HANDSOME ZULU, resulting in HANDSOME ZULU being taken in onto JACOBEE which in turn was taken in onto VITALITY EXPRESS, causing VITALITY EXPRESS to be taken across the rightful running of STRAIGHT FORWARD, resulting in STRAIGHT FORWARD being checked and losing the running to which it was rightfully entitled. T Angland was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Thursday, 13 January 2011 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after the Happy Valley racemeeting on Wednesday, 5 January 2011. Passing the 100 Metres, SAPELLI, which was closing off the race, was shifted to the inside of the heels of JAMESINA to continue improving. For the majority of the race, ENDLESS LUCK travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. A veterinary inspection of ENDLESS LUCK after the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucopus in the horse's trachea. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that JACOBEE had lost its right front plate. JACOBEE and JAMESINA were sent for sampling.
