TANG PALACE was withdrawn on raceday morning by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (substantial amount of mucopus on scoping after track work). Before being allowed to race again, TANG PALACE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After being loaded, REALLY THE BEST became fractious. Before being allowed to race again, REALLY THE BEST will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. SMILING WATCH and BULLISH POWER were slow to begin. FOLLOW THE WIND was crowded for room at the start between EVEN EMAIL which shifted out slightly and SOUNDS SPEEDY which began awkwardly and shifted in. In the middle stages, FOLLOW THE WIND raced greenly. After the 600 Metres, EVEN EMAIL, which was reluctant to maintain its position, was checked when crowded for room between CHANCELLOR and MIGHTY K (T Angland) which, after being awkwardly placed close to the heels of FULGURITE, shifted out. T Angland was advised that having considered the circumstances of this case, the Stewards believed it was appropriate that he be severely reprimanded and further advised that wherever possible he ensures that he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground in similar circumstances. Near the 350 Metres, B Doyle (SOUNDS SPEEDY) dropped his whip. B Doyle was told the number of occasions on which he had dropped his whip during this season had come under notice and he should take steps to prevent this from occurring whenever possible in future. Passing the 300 Metres, WORLD HOLD ON momentarily raced tight between REALLY THE BEST and BULLISH POWER which got its head on the side and hung out. After the 200 Metres, REALLY THE BEST was steadied away from the heels of BULLISH POWER (M Chadwick) which continued to get its head on the side and shift out when being ridden out. M Chadwick was severely reprimanded and advised to ensure that he makes every endeavour to prevent his mounts from shifting ground. WAH MAY STAR and MIGHTY K were sent for sampling.
