HOT PEPPER and HAPPY SCORE bumped heavily at the start. After this, HAPPY SCORE was taken across behind runners. Shortly after the start, PANTHER RUN was steadied when crowded for room between SAMMY’S FALCON and GALAXY TREASURE. Approaching the 1200 Metres, GENERAL DANROAD was steadied when crowded for room between HOT PEPPER and SUPER GENERAL which shifted in. SUPER GENERAL was immediately corrected by its rider and shifted out to relieve the tightening to GENERAL DANROAD. After this, SUPER GENERAL proved difficult to settle when racing wide and without cover. At the 400 Metres, GIANTS SERAPIS shifted out towards the heels of SNITZEL KID and was checked. GIANTS SERAPIS then ran in after being checked away from the heels of SNITZEL KID, resulting in SUPER GENTLEMAN losing ground when crowded for room between that horse and PANTHER RUN. MUSTANG had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight. At the entrance to the Straight, DELISH and HOT PEPPER bumped as DELISH shifted out to obtain clear running. In the early part of the Straight, SUPER GENERAL got its head on the side and hung in. Near the 300 Metres, SAMMY’S FALCON was steadied when disappointed for running between GENERAL DANROAD and SUPER GENERAL which shifted out slightly. Near the 200 Metres, HAPPY SCORE, which was closing off the race, was checked away from the heels of HOT PEPPER which was giving ground. Throughout the race, HOT PEPPER travelled wide and without cover. After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on GALAXY TREASURE at the request of Trainer K L Man. The Veterinary Officer said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, GALAXY TREASURE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. DELISH, SEA PRINCE and PANTHER RUN were sent for sampling.
