SUNNY FAY was withdrawn on raceday afternoon by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (swollen right fore tendon region). Before being allowed to race again, SUNNY FAY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. WIN CHANCE, which was having its first race start in Hong Kong tonight, proved very difficult to manage in the Parade Ring. Trainer C H Yip was advised that the horse must undergo a satisfactory raceday parade test before being permitted to race again. WIN CHANCE was slow to begin. After being loaded, GETAWAY GUY became fractious. Before being allowed to race again, GETAWAY GUY will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. From the outside barrier, GETAWAY GUY was taken across behind runners in the early stages. Despite being ridden along in the early stages, MY GOAL failed to muster speed and passing the 1100 Metres was taken across behind runners. When left without cover after the 900 Metres, TURIN CHAMPION over-raced and proved very difficult to settle. Passing the 800 Metres, RAINBOW FIGHTER raced in restricted room between MY NAME IS BOND and PROLIFIC CHAMPION. In this incident, RAINBOW FIGHTER bumped MY NAME IS BOND which became unbalanced when awkwardly placed close to the heels of GOLDEN BAUHINIA. After the 150 Metres, MY NAME IS BOND was shifted to the inside of HAPPY YEAH YEAH into clear running. Over the concluding stages, MY NAME IS BOND raced tight inside HAPPY YEAH YEAH and because of this was not able to be fully tested. A veterinary inspection of PROLIFIC CHAMPION immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. MY NAME IS BOND, HAPPY YEAH YEAH and RAINBOW FIGHTER were sent for sampling.
