WINNING PAL was withdrawn on raceday morning by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (injured left front foot). Before being allowed to race again, WINNING PAL will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. TREMENDOUS PLUS and LITTLE BIG BOY were slow to begin. MAJESTIC HEART began awkwardly and lost ground. On jumping, REAL PLEASURE stumbled. Despite being ridden along in the early stages, OPERA MAGIC failed to muster speed. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, MAJESTIC HEART got its head up and was checked when being steadied away from the heels of FIRST KNIGHT. In this incident, MAJESTIC HEART became badly unbalanced, lost a considerable amount of ground, shifted out and bumped LITTLE BIG BOY which as a result was crowded for room and hampered. Over the concluding stages, FANTASTIC TIME hung in. FIRST KNIGHT and REAL PLEASURE were sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, FIRST KNIGHT was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, FIRST KNIGHT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of REAL PLEASURE after the race did not show any significant findings. ISTIDE and BRILLIANT TREASURE were sent for sampling.
