After arriving at the Start, SUPER BABY was re-saddled at the request of E Saint-Martin, the horse’s rider. As SUPER BABY was being re-saddled, the horse became fractious and reared over. SUPER BABY was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said the horse was stiff in the left hind leg and in his opinion was not suitable to race. Acting on this advice, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of SUPER BABY. Before being allowed to race again, SUPER BABY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. HAPPY GO LUCKY began awkwardly, bumped the inside gate of its stall and lost ground. Despite being ridden along in the early stages, LIFELINE RAPIDE took time to muster speed. From the 300 Metres until the 100 Metres, MARIBEAU had difficulty obtaining clear running and because of this was not fully tested. E Wilson (GO BRITANNIA) said from the outside barrier with a light weight she had been instructed to have the horse travel in a forward position if possible. She said accordingly she allowed GO BRITANNIA to stride forward in the early stages, however, she was not able to obtain a position with cover and as a consequence travelled wide throughout. G Mossé (CIRCUIT HERO) said the intention had been to ride the horse in a forward position. He said despite CIRCUIT HERO having been placed on a rain affected track in the past, the horse at no stage of today’s race felt comfortable in the going. He said he rode CIRCUIT HERO along throughout to have the horse maintain its position, however, it was not able to close the race off in the Straight. S K Sit (BE MY SONG) said he rode the horse in a forward position in accordance with his instructions. He said the second quarter of the race was run at a quick tempo as he went forward of GOOD PARTNER to race outside the lead. He said after this BE MY SONG did not relax and as a consequence gave ground over the concluding stages. CIRCUIT HERO was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. BE MY SONG was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of CIRCUIT HERO and BE MY SONG after the race did not show any significant findings. HORSE WIN WIN and BODACIOUS were sent for sampling.
