After being boxed, GALACTIC TACTIC became fractious and reared. Whilst GALACTIC TACTIC was being remounted, GO BRITANNIA was very fractious, reared, sat down and became temporarily trapped in the barrier, causing D Beadman, its rider, to be dislodged which in turn caused GIVE WELL to become fractious, reared, flipped over and sustained a head injury. As a consequence, Z Purton was also dislodged. Acting on veterinary advice that GO BRITANNIA and GIVE WELL were not suitable to race, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of those horses. The entire field was unloaded. BRILLIANT TREASURE, which was drawn inside GIVE WELL, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. Before being permitted to race again, GO BRITANNIA and GIVE WELL will both be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination and GALACTIC TACTIC will have to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. After GIVE WELL reared over in the barriers, Mr C W Chang, trainer of the horse, entered the track and went to the Start. Mr Chang was told that he must desist from such a practice as only authorized persons are permitted at the Start. In the early stages, KING CREOLE was taken across behind runners and then ridden along to improve its position. After entering the Back Straight, KING CREOLE, which was proving difficult to settle, shifted out away from the heels of BRILLIANT TREASURE. After the 800 Metres, WIKI WIKI, which was proving difficult to settle, got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of BRILLIANT TREASURE which at this time itself was steadied away from the heels of GALACTIC TACTIC. As a consequence of WIKI WIKI becoming unbalanced, crowding was caused on its inside to MASTER OF SHAVERS. In the Straight, MASTER OF SHAVERS hung out. Throughout the race, FANTASTIC TIME travelled wide and without cover. O Doleuze (WIKI WIKI) explained from a wide barrier it was felt if the horse were ridden to go forward, it would be left racing wide and without cover. He said because of this he had been asked to take the horse back in the early stages and endeavour to improve his position closer to the rail if possible. He said after beginning well he took WIKI WIKI back and across behind runners as instructed. He said after entering the Back Straight he was able to improve his position to follow BRILLIANT TREASURE, one horse away from the rail. He said after the 800 Metres WIKI WIKI commenced to over-race and proved difficult to settle. He said WIKI WIKI travelled satisfactorily making the turn after the 600 Metres, however, in the Straight kept on only one paced. When questioned regarding the poor performance of KING CREOLE, M Nunes said because he endeavoured to improve his position making the turn at the 1000 Metres, KING CREOLE commenced to over-race and was then left racing wide and without cover. He said as a consequence of this KING CREOLE failed to finish tonight's race off. He said KING CREOLE is best suited when it relaxes in its races. ONE TOUCH and KING CREOLE were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of ONE TOUCH and KING CREOLE after the race did not show any significant findings. BRILLIANT TREASURE, GALACTIC TACTIC and KINGSTON MARBLE were sent for sampling.
