SOLAR MIGHTY was withdrawn on 19.2.08 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter HAPPY GO LUCKY (O Doleuze). Before being allowed to race again, SOLAR MIGHTY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. On jumping, THE WORLD OF LOVE was taken across behind runners and then improved its position along the rail. MASTER CRISTO made the turn at the 1000 Metres awkwardly, got its head up, shifted out and was checked away from the heels of KIMBERLEY MINES. After entering the Back Straight, KIMBERLEY MINES was left racing wide and without cover, then in the Home Straight hung in. When questioned, Apprentice K T Yeung (GOLDEN CARE) said in the early stages he took his mount across behind runners. He said approaching the turn at the 1000 Metres GOLDEN CARE did not appear balanced in its action and because of this he did not ride along to follow THE WORLD OF LOVE forward. He said as a consequence AMO was able to obtain a position following THE WORLD OF LOVE. He said after the 700 Metres he did endeavour to have GOLDEN CARE improve its position, however, the horse responded only fairly. DOUBLE LUCK and THE WORLD OF LOVE were sent for sampling.
