WINBO was slow to begin. MUTUAL FRIENDSHIP began awkwardly and got its head up. In the early stages, SUPER FIGHTER from a wide barrier was taken back. In the middle stages, KINGIFLY got its head on the side, raced ungenerously and at the 500 Metres shifted to the outside of GLENEALY STAR. Passing the 300 Metres, WILLING STORM and ALL TIME HIGH raced tight as WILLING STORM was shifted to the outside of MASTER CRISTO into clear running. After the 300 Metres, M Du Plessis (TREASURABLE) dropped his right rein which took him some time to re-gather. For the major part of the race, MASTER CRISTO travelled wide and without cover. GLENEALY STAR and MANY GAINS were sent for sampling. After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on MUTUAL FRIENDSHIP at the request of Trainer C W Chang. He said this examination showed a substantial amount of mucopus in the horse's trachea. Additional Racing Incidents Report (released on 26 March 2008) Passing the 600 Metres, WINBO got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of WHIPLASH. QUICK TOUCH was unable to obtain clear running from on straightening until the 200 Metres.
