HOT SUN was slow to begin and then in the Straight hung out. Despite being ridden along in the early stages, WINNING AHEAD failed to muster speed, then throughout the race travelled wide and without cover. Making the Home Turn, SO NICE hung out. For a considerable distance after straightening, MAINLAND MASTER was held up and unable to improve. From the outside barrier, DAYLIGHT EXPRESS hung out for the major part of the race, making the turns hung out badly and travelled wide and without cover. DAYLIGHT EXPRESS was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of DAYLIGHT EXPRESS after the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of DAYLIGHT EXPRESS was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, DAYLIGHT EXPRESS will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial around a bend. BLUE SAINT was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. After the race, BLUE SAINT was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, BLUE SAINT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. FULL BLESSINGS and DOUBLE FANTASY were sent for sampling.
