CAN'T GO WONG

On March 27th, the horse recorded (dirt trial 1200m: 4-3-6), maintaining a rail position with a steady pace. Five weeks ago over the same distance, it performed well, jumping moderately and settling towards the rear at a consistent speed before being urged forward by the jockey. A subsequent barrier trial did not show significant improvement. This race sees a two-pound weight reduction; the horse has previous form over this distance, recording the best time within its group, and draws a favorable barrier. Based on ability, it’s considered the most promising runner in this field. Matthew Poon takes the ride, gaining some familiarity with the horse's capabilities. Despite potentially settling towards the rear, its finishing kick is not expected to match rivals, and trainer-jockey synergy appears limited; however, it shouldn’t be underestimated.
