BRAVE WITNESS

Having recently completed a dirt trial over 1200m (sections: 2-1-2), the horse broke well and showed good early speed. Four weeks ago, it ran a strong race over Sha Tin’s 1800m, jumping moderately before settling towards the rear, then picking up pace in the final two sections. It finished fifth, beaten three and a half lengths. A subsequent barrier trial indicated slight improvement. Now stepping into a Happy Valley 1800m race with no weight reduction, a good barrier draw and jockey/trainer combination suggest potential; however, concerns remain regarding distance suitability and finishing kick which may see it run as an outsider.
