On March 25th (dirt trial 1200m: 6-6-3), the horse made a strong move from three lengths back, finishing third under urging. On March 10th (Conghua turf trial 1600m: 6-6-6-2), it moved to an outside position on the straight and finished with a good surge. A further Conghua turf trial over 1600m on February 24th saw it respond well to prompting, winning comfortably. Prior to March, this horse ran poorly over a Happy Valley 1800m, settling in a good position tracking the pace with a steady speed but lacking any significant turn of foot. Following a short break, three barrier trials have shown some improvement. Now returning to Happy Valley over a mile with a one-pound weight reduction, having previously performed well at this distance, and facing comparable opposition timing, the tactics will be to settle back and rely on its finishing kick. The trainer and jockey are working well together and have prepared the horse diligently. Despite drawing a poor barrier which is unfavorable, it remains capable of contending for a place.
