YOUNG HORIZON

Two weeks ago, this horse ran well over a Happy Valley 1200m, jumping slowly and settling towards the back before showing a strong late surge. A subsequent dirt mile trial saw the horse with a one-pound weight reduction, but it couldn't match the pace of rivals and lacked sufficient finishing kick. Despite drawing an inside barrier, trainer-jockey combination appears to be mismatched, suggesting limited potential even with good synergy between horse and rider.
