On April 7th, the horse showed a good response in a turf trial at Conghua over 1000m, accelerating well through each section (4-3-1). Eight weeks ago, over Sha Tin’s 1400m, it performed adequately but had a slow start and settled towards the back before making a mid-race move. Unfortunately, it couldn't sustain its effort to the finish. Following a short break, a subsequent barrier trial showed slight improvement. The horse has dropped 22 pounds in body weight and is returning to racing on dirt over 1200m at Sha Tin. This time with no additional weight, it possesses respectable form over this distance, and the times of its rivals are comparable. Drawing an inside barrier suggests a hold-up strategy, relying on a strong finishing kick which appears superior to those of its competitors. Matthew Poon takes the ride, having some familiarity with the horse's capabilities; however, there’s perceived disharmony between the jockey and trainer, potentially impacting their partnership.
