Four weeks ago, this horse ran a respectable race over 1200m on dirt, settling in a good position tracking the leaders and showing strong momentum. A recent turf trial at Conghua over 1000m saw the horse maintain a consistent pace with both early speed and finishing kick, running second in the first section, first in the second, and second overall. Another trial over 1200m at Happy Valley yielded an unremarkable performance. This time, racing with a two-pound weight reduction and drawing a good barrier in a competitive field, the horse is expected to challenge for the lead. The jockey has some understanding of the horse’s capabilities; however, there's a perceived disconnect between trainer and jockey. A clean break and commitment to an early pace should see it finish among the frontrunners.
