Four weeks ago, this horse ran poorly over 1200m on the dirt, jumping slowly and settling towards the back with a steady pace but no finishing kick, ultimately trailing behind. A subsequent trial over 1200m at Happy Valley sees the horse carrying an additional seven pounds this time. Showing good gate speed in the same group, drawing a decent barrier and appearing in good form. Matthew Poon takes the ride, having a strong understanding of the horse’s temperament; preparations are intensifying with increased gate work. Even with a potentially weak finishing kick and a trainer-jockey combination that hasn't fully clicked, a clean break and intent to lead should see it challenge for a forward position.
