Six weeks ago, this horse ran poorly in a straight course race, settling in a good position tracking the leaders with a steady pace but lacking any impressive segments. A recent barrier trial showed slight improvement. The horse has dropped 36 pounds in body weight and is switching to a Happy Valley sprint for its first attempt at this distance. Receiving a one-pound reduction this time, the distance appears unsuitable and the overall situation unfavorable; even with a good barrier draw, it’s best to see how it performs first. On April 10th (dirt trial 1200m: 1-1-3), it broke well and led easily, finishing a comfortable third.
