BRIGHT DAY

On May 6th, the horse recorded (dirt trial 1200m: 2-2-2), pushing strongly for second place with good strides. Four weeks ago, this horse’s performance over a Sha Tin 1400m turf was unremarkable; slow to jump and settled towards the rear but showed effort in the middle stages, ultimately failing to catch up. One barrier trial has shown slight improvement. Switching to dirt over 1200m for its first attempt at this distance, it will carry an additional three pounds this time. The distance is not ideal, with a weak finishing kick and unfavorable circumstances due to a lack of chemistry between the horse and trainer. Despite showing ability to track the leaders, connections are cautiously optimistic, having switched to jockey Alexis Badel who has some familiarity with the horse’s capabilities; suggest observing its performance in this race first.
