SOLID IMPACT

On May 12th, (dirt trial 1200m: 1-1-2) showed good early pace and maintained it well throughout the sections. Six weeks ago, this horse ran disappointingly over Sha Tin’s 1400m turf, with a slow jump and settling towards the back of the field at a steady pace but lacking a finishing burst. A subsequent barrier trial indicated slight improvement. Another dirt trial over 1200m was completed, and this time will carry three pounds less weight. The horse is timing slower than others in its group, drawing an outside barrier. Expecting to settle towards the back again, however, the finishing kick isn’t strong enough compared to rivals, making for a disadvantageous situation despite having won twice over this distance previously, resulting in limited chances.
