On March 6th, a turf trial over 1600m saw the horse lead in all three sections and secure first place. Three months ago, this horse delivered a poor performance over a Sha Tin 1400m race; he jumped slowly and settled towards the rear, making a mid-race effort but fading significantly to finish well back. Following a break, one barrier trial showed slight improvement. Last start, another trial over 1200m on turf is completed. This time, he needs to carry 15 pounds more. He has failed to win in three previous attempts at this distance, with unfavorable comparisons against the competition and drawing an outside barrier presenting a disadvantageous situation; little chance appears likely.
