He finished fourth, beaten three lengths, displaying high potential. A subsequent dirt trial over 1200m further prepares him for this race where he will benefit from a two-pound weight reduction. His time in that trial was respectable relative to other horses in the same group, and his running style favours settling back with a strong finishing kick. He has drawn favorably and now benefits from the engagement of Zac Purton, who knows the horse well. The trainer and jockey are working well together, and he appears to be a competitive type.
