CERVIN

On June 26th, the horse recorded (dirt trial 1200m: 8-7-6), ridden moderately at the 200m mark and making up ground from an inside position. On May 30th, he showed promise in a Conghua turf trial over 1200m (1-1-5) taking the lead from a mid-barrier position under urging. Two months ago, in a race over the same distance, the performance was poor with a slow start and settling towards the rear. He made a middle section effort but faded badly to finish well beaten. Having had a short break, two barrier trials have been undertaken but are considered insufficient preparation. This time, he carries no additional weight, however his trial times relative to other horses are unfavorable. Even if he has proven form over this distance, a good position tracking the leaders is expected and although the barrier draw is reasonable, his finishing kick is only moderate and he isn't considered a strong contender in this race.
