On June 20th, (dirt trial 1200m: 7-7-5) the horse was unable to keep pace early on but made up significant ground in the straight. Eight weeks ago, this horse performed poorly over a Happy Valley 1600m, jumping slowly and settling towards the rear. He showed some effort mid-race but faded badly, finishing well-beaten. Following a short break, he had one barrier trial without showing noticeable improvement. Making his debut after switching stables, he recently trialed over a Happy Valley mile. This time benefiting from a three-pound weight reduction, with previous form over this distance and drawing a favorable barrier. While the overall times in its group were not impressive during trackwork, the circumstances are still worth considering.
