On June 26th (dirt trial 1200m: 7-8-4), the horse was slow to jump but moved out on the turn and responded well when urged forward. On May 29th (dirt trial 1200m: 4-3-2) he conserved energy while tracking, showing a good attitude. Eight weeks ago in a race over the same distance, he ran respectably despite a slow start and settling towards the rear with an even pace. He finished fifth, beaten two and a half lengths. Following a short break, he’s had two trials demonstrating slight improvement. Returning from a spell, this horse is set to carry 12 pounds more in this race. He has previously won twice at this distance, boasts good times against his rivals and drew a favorable barrier. Trainer and jockey appear to have a solid rapport; he shouldn't be underestimated.
