Five weeks ago, this horse ran very poorly over a Happy Valley mile, with a slow jump and settling at the rear. He maintained a steady pace but showed no finishing kick and was well-beaten. Subsequent trial performance was acceptable. In a recent Happy Valley 1200m trial, he will carry seven pounds less this time but faced slower sectionals from his group. Drawing a poor barrier presents a disadvantage; even if able to track the leaders, it’s unlikely to impact this race favorably.
