BETTER AND BETTER

Three weeks ago, over Sha Tin’s 1200m, the performance was unsatisfactory; a slow jump led to settling towards the rear. The horse demonstrated strong late speed finishing fourth, beaten by one and a half lengths. Now switching to Happy Valley over 1200m for its course debut, this time with a one-pound weight reduction and drawing a favorable barrier, the tactics will be to settle back in the field relying on a good finishing kick. The horse holds a relative advantage in terms of ability compared to other runners. Matthew Poon takes the ride, a jockey known to work well with this horse, and there’s strong synergy between trainer and rider, though the distance may not suit perfectly – hopes are for a solid run.
