He finished eighth, beaten three and a half lengths. In a subsequent trial at Happy Valley over 1200m, he benefits from a one-pound weight reduction this time, recording the fastest time among his group and showing ability to track the pace setters. He has a favorable barrier draw and appears in good form; based on current performance, he is considered superior to many of the competitors and should be able to secure a forward position with a clean break.
