On September 29th, a turf trial over 1000m at Conghua saw this horse jump slightly slowly before making up ground from the back of the field and performing competently. Returning after a long break, this is his seasonal debut. He’s had one barrier trial with a reasonable showing. Last run was a first-time start over Happy Valley 1200m; he will carry two pounds less weight this time but drew an unfavorable outside barrier. Despite having some form at this distance, the times in his group were not significantly slower, suggesting a need to settle towards the rear and rely on a strong finishing kick. He is receiving gatework ahead of the race and doesn’t appear to have any specific instructions regarding tactics.
