PATCH OF WATCH

Two weeks ago, this horse ran poorly over a Happy Valley 1200m, settling in a good position tracking the leaders with a steady pace but lacking a finishing surge. A subsequent turf trial over a shorter distance at Happy Valley sees the horse carrying one pound less weight; however, the barrier draw isn't ideal. Despite similar sectionals to other horses in the trial, it showed the ability to keep up with the pace setters and has an opportunity to track the leaders, benefiting from a favourable barrier position.
