CAN'T GO WONG

On October 21st, a dirt trial over 1200m showed an average performance with a steady pace throughout. Five weeks ago, the horse ran well over Sha Tin’s 1800m turf, settling in a good position tracking the leaders and making a strong move through the middle stages, maintaining a good stride. He finished fifth, beaten by one length. A subsequent barrier trial didn’t match expected progress. Returning to Happy Valley over 1800m for his first run this season, he will carry an additional four pounds. He has previous form over this distance and comparable times with the competition; drawing a favorable barrier provides a good situation. Compared to other rivals, he possesses a higher level of ability, showing good horse-jockey synergy. Despite potentially settling towards the rear, his finishing kick may not be as strong as some opponents, and there appears to be limited chemistry between horse and trainer, with noticeable frustration.
