On 1/12, a turf trial over 1200m at Conghua saw a slow start and faded when tested. Four weeks ago in the same distance, it performed respectably, jumping slowly but settling back before making a mid-race move with good acceleration. A recent barrier trial didn’t show much promise. This race benefits from a three-pound weight reduction, though its group timing isn't favorable. The barrier draw is not ideal and trainer/jockey combination appears unsuited; even with a good gate, it's expected to settle back in the field. While possessing a decent finishing kick, Richard Kingscote takes the ride and has some familiarity with the horse’s capabilities, but doesn’t appear to have a clear strategy.
