SPEED DRAGON

Four weeks ago, this horse ran a respectable race over a Happy Valley mile, with a slow jump and settling towards the rear. He made a mid-race move, attempting to close on the leaders, finishing three and a half lengths behind in sixth place. Having recently trialled over a Happy Valley 1800m distance, he will carry one pound more this time, despite having two previous wins at this course and recording the fastest time within his group. The tactics are expected to be hold-up, relying on a strong finishing kick; the horse appears to have a clear advantage in this race but has drawn a poor barrier which may require him to settle back early.
