On December 16th (turf trial 1000m: 1-1-2), the horse showed good speed but was held back near the gate to maintain a leading position. On November 18th (turf trial 1000m: 1-1-11) he jumped quickly in the first two sections, finishing steadily. On November 7th (dirt trial 1050m: 1-1-4), he broke well and led but weakened towards the end of the straight. Two months ago in a Happy Valley sprint race, the performance was poor, settling in a good position tracking the leaders with a steady pace but lacking a finishing surge. After a short break, three barrier trials were undertaken showing slight improvement. Switching to a straight course race for his first attempt at this distance, he has a 2lb weight reduction this time. However, the distance is unfavorable and the draw is poor, creating a disadvantageous situation. Even if capable of tracking the early pace, it's advisable to observe one run first.
