JUSTIFYING

On 9/12 (dirt trial 1200m: 1-1-1), the horse showed a quick jump and led throughout. In March, this horse ran well over a Happy Valley 1200m, settling in a good position tracking the leaders at a steady pace but was overtaken by Last Sunken. He finished sixth, beaten two and a half lengths. After a short break, he had one barrier trial showing improvement. Returning to racing, he will run back on the straight course for the first time. This time he needs to carry 17 pounds more, has previous form over this distance, and his section times are competitive within the group. He is expected to settle behind and finish strongly, possessing the strongest finishing kick in the field. The horse benefits from a favorable draw and appears stronger than other contenders. Hugh Bowman takes the ride, having some familiarity with the horse’s ability, and maintains a good rapport with the trainer. Currently showing good form.
