On March 13th, this horse finished second in a dirt trial over 1050m with an impressive attitude. Four weeks ago, he ran poorly over a Sha Tin 1400m turf track, tracking the leaders but fading badly. A subsequent barrier trial showed some improvement. Switching to a straight course race for his debut at this distance, he will carry two pounds less this time and has drawn a favorable barrier. The plan is to settle back in the field with an emphasis on finishing kick, which appears strong within the group. Matthew Chadwick takes the ride, demonstrating familiarity with the horse’s temperament. Despite the shorter distance being potentially unsuitable and trainer-jockey synergy being questionable, he holds good winning chances.
