GOLD PATCH

Having undergone three barrier trials this season, the horse displayed impressive form with (1200m dirt trial on March 13th: 1-1-1), jumping moderately but quickly taking a rails position and running straight to the finish. Prior to that, a turf trial over 1000m on December 16th saw him track the leaders before shifting outwards at the 200m mark for an accelerating win. A further turf trial at Conghua over 800m on November 17th resulted in another dominant front-running performance. This horse is a debutant, having commenced training in Hong Kong since early September last year. He has shown good speed and willingness to chase, maintaining a consistent fast pace and appearing to be a genuine sprinter. Prepared well for this first start with James McDonald aboard, he looks capable of winning on debut.
