Three weeks ago, this horse ran poorly over a Sha Tin 1200m turf race, with a slow jump and settling towards the rear. Maintaining an even pace throughout, it lacked any noticeable acceleration and finished well-beaten. Now dropping back in class, it will be retested over 1400m on the turf. This time, it has to carry sixteen pounds more weight, which is not ideal. Despite having secured two wins at this distance previously, the competition within the group is relatively close. It should be able to secure a good position tracking the leaders, and demonstrated a decent finishing kick in its last run. The jockey has some understanding of the horse’s capabilities, and the trainer-jockey relationship appears amicable, providing a potential opportunity.
