Three weeks ago, this horse delivered an excellent performance over 1800m on the dirt track. He was slow to jump but settled back in the field before making a strong late run with fast sectionals to finish third, only beaten two and a half lengths – a good level of performance. On debut over a mile on the dirt, he has a one-pound weight reduction this time, however, the distance is not ideal and the barrier draw isn't advantageous. Although capable of tracking the leaders, connections believe it was primarily a barrier trial run to assess form.
