PARENTS' LOVE

On March 5th (dirt trial 1050m: 1-1-1), the horse adopted a front-running tactic and won convincingly. Five weeks ago, in a straight course race, it ran well, settling comfortably tracking the leaders with a good finishing kick, only beaten three and a half lengths. A recent barrier trial showed improvement. Dropping back in class, this horse returns to Happy Valley over a short distance; it has recorded three wins from twenty starts at this trip with competitive times and is capable of running near the front. Its overall rating places it among the leading contenders in this field, the jockey has some understanding of its temperament, and morning trackwork remains encouraging. Despite needing to carry 17 pounds more this time, which slightly disadvantages its chances, its finishing speed may be a concern, making it suitable as a supporting runner.
