On March 2nd, during a turf trial at Conghua over 1200m (sections 2-2-2), the horse travelled tracking the leaders and was urged to finish second. Five weeks ago in its last run on Sha Tin turf over 1400m, it performed poorly with a slow start and settled towards the rear, maintaining an even pace throughout for an unremarkable performance. A subsequent barrier trial showed slight improvement. Switching to Happy Valley over a shorter distance for its debut at this trip, the horse is set to carry four extra pounds this time, a distance considered unfavourable given its weak time figures. The current form presents challenges; adopting a hold-up tactic will likely see it unable to make up sufficient ground in the final stages. Trainer-jockey synergy hasn't been prominent but the jockey’s previous pairings with the horse are reasonable and its condition continues to improve, making it one to watch.
