On March 16th (Conghua turf trial 1200m: 9-8-9), the horse underwent a serious test with an unremarkable performance. On March 27th (Conghua turf trial 1000m: 10-10-8), it relaxed in the early stages, showing only moderate chasing ability during the trial. Prior to April, its Sha Tin 1400m run was disappointing; it settled towards the rear and weakened at the finish, resulting in a significant defeat. Two barrier trials have been completed without demonstrating sufficient improvement. Returning to Happy Valley over a mile, it faces a time difference disadvantage within its group and shows a slightly weaker finishing kick. Trainer-jockey combination is not ideal, however, the horse has an advantageous barrier draw and the jockey appears to have some understanding of the horse’s temperament; likely to be a longshot contender."
