On March 24th, a turf trial over 1000m saw the horse take the lead on the outside rail and demonstrate increased stamina (finished 1st, 2nd, then 4th in sections). On March 14th, a Happy Valley barrier trial over 1200m showed a weakening finish and awkward gait (finished 5th, 7th, and 9th in sections). Seven weeks ago, the horse performed well in a Sha Tin turf race over 1200m, settling comfortably tracking the leaders and maintaining momentum towards the end. Two recent barrier trials have not shown significant improvement. Switching to Happy Valley over 1200m now for its course debut, the distance may not suit; time differences compared to other horses in the same group suggest a slightly weaker finishing kick. However, it can keep pace with the leaders and the jockey/horse combination appears adequate, potentially challenging for a place.
