7/5 (Dirt trial 1200m: 5-5-5) was urged with a whip but showed no improvement. Five weeks ago, he ran over 1600m on Sha Tin turf and performed reasonably well. He was slow to exit the gate, settled towards the rear, maintained a steady pace, and gradually closed in towards the finish. A trial run did not show any improvement. Another attempt over 1800m on Sha Tin turf showed no favorable configuration, the draw was unfavorable, and his late kick was not prominent. There isn't a particularly strong bond between the jockey and trainer, but he has prior form, and the timing in this group is acceptable, nor does it seem calculated.
