CHANCHENG SPARKLE

Prior to its debut, the horse ran a 1200m turf trial at Conghua on November 5th (running positions: 6-6-4), starting slowly and with little acceleration through the first 200m, closing near the finish line. It showed good impressions in a 1000m turf trial at Conghua on April 27th (running positions: 8-8-3), maintaining a position along the rail. In another 1000m turf trial on January 30th (running positions: 2-4-7), it tracked the leaders but faded sharply after the half-way point. A 1000m turf trial on December 1st (running positions: 8-7-7) saw it held up after a slow start, running near the rear. In an 800m turf trial on December 15th (running positions: 5-6-6), it pushed slightly to keep pace but did not significantly improve. This debutant, which began training in mid-August last year after arriving in Hong Kong, has completed five trials with slight improvement. It is relatively small, has low stride action, and slow turnover; its acceleration isn't particularly strong. Its advantage is that it willingly tracks the pace, and in this first race, it will likely be dictated by its cruising speed.
