On 22/5, he ran a dirt barrier trial over 1050m (running positions in sections: 1-1-2), tracking the pace on the rail and showing improvement in the final stages. Three weeks ago, he delivered a standout performance in a straight race, settling well near the front and securing second place. He was close to winning, beaten only half a length. Following another trial run which showed slight improvement, he then tested over 1200m on Sha Tin turf. This debut trip saw him run competitively against his peers with an ideal draw, making him one of the top-rated contenders for this race. The jockey has a good understanding of the horse's temperament, and with solid prep work, he is strongly fancied to win.
