STORM RUNNER

(Dirt trial 1200m: 4-4-5) maintained pace without losing ground, showing no lack of drive. Seven weeks ago on Sha Tin turf over 1800m, he performed poorly, a slow start saw him track from behind, and the finishing kick weakened significantly, resulting in a heavy defeat. A recent trial showed he couldn't keep up with the pace setters. In his last run over a Happy Valley mile, he will carry five pounds extra in this race; his timing performance has not been outstanding, giving him a slightly unfavorable position, and his finishing power is somewhat inferior. The partnership between jockey and trainer has not been pronouncedly strong; however, with a favorable draw and thorough pre-race preparation, he could be a candidate for an upset.
