1/9 (Dirt trial 1200m: running positions 5-6-7), ridden early, with average movement. Making his first start this season, he showed excellent form eight weeks ago over a Happy Valley 1800m. He was slow to jump out, settled in the rear, maintaining a steady pace throughout, gradually recovering ground in the final stages to challenge strongly and finish second, beaten only half a length. After one trial run which showed no significant improvement, he ran another Happy Valley mile. This time he carries four pounds less, has proven his ability over this distance, made a respectable time, drew an advantageous draw. With a strong overall assessment placing him near the top of his field, and good synergy between horse, jockey, and trainer's plan, he is a strong contender for the win.
